Layan Beach is peaceful and quiet even during a high season due to its isolated location. Located on the western coast of Phuket, Layan sits next to Bang Tao Beach to the North. The beach location is very hidden, making most of its visitors are locals and expats. The sea in Layan area is relatively still thanks to Koh Kala acting like a shelter to the beach. Layan also has a small lagoon for visitors to enjoy.
Due to its secluded location, there is only one luxury resort with a good review – Anantara Phuket Layan Resort and Spa. However, visitors can always find more hotels and resorts at the nearby beach of Bang Tao where it has over 100 properties to choose from.

Beachgoers can also enjoy swimming in Layan as the sea is calm, except during the monsoon season where any beach in Phuket is not recommended for a swim.
Visiting Koh Kala is another recommended activity to do when on Layan Beach. The island is close to the shore where one can kayak to the island and explore around.

There are only a few restaurants and shops in the location selling local foods and some western dishes at a friendly price. Shops in Layan sell only some snacks, toiletries and some other basic stuff for travelers. Although there are few dining options in Layan area, there is one stylish restaurant, 360 Degrees Restaurant, where it serves panoramic view of the Layan Bay and a great selection of western food and wine.
The only nightlife option in Layan is the Nikki Beach. The renowned beach club has just opened in 2014, offering more options for the residents and travelers in Layan.
