On the edge of the center of Hirafu Village, Chalet Shika is just a couple of hundred meters from the shuttle stop to the slopes of Japan’s renowned ski destination of Niseko and all the action; with the Hirafu Gondola just a 10-minute walk away. The five-bedroom chalet on two levels evokes a cozy, country house style, with an attractive brickwork exterior and soft interiors that create a soothing ambiance that is relaxing and comforting.
Standout features are the double-height vaulted ceiling over the living room which adds a beautiful sense and spaciousness. This lowers over the dining table to create a more intimate vibe; while steps lead down from sliding doors in the lounge area to a landscaped garden and big outdoor terrace for beautiful days and BBQ nights.
Wooden floors and a corner gas fireplace with stone design details, as well as Venetian blinds on the living room’s many windows create a light and airy space during the day that turns into a cozy retreat once the sun goes down. The dining table is right next to sliding doors to the garden, and a cottage-style fitted with a breakfast bar and stools; creating a warm home-away-from-home ambiance that is perfect for families.
Two of the bedrooms boasts ensuites while there are two shared bathrooms, with bathtubs. The luxurious master bedroom, on the lower level, has a four-poster bed and private balcony, with the other rooms all together on the upper level.
Chalet Shika has one flat-screen TV in the living room and one in the chalet’s media room that also acts as a kids’ playroom, with games, books, and state-of-the-art music and entertainment system. There are also ski, and boots rack for drying off gear after a fun day on the slopes, in-chalet massages are available as well as a concierge service, in-chalet catering, grocery delivery, and a wine menu for beautiful evening dining in.
