Although Koh Samui has enjoyed its pristine soft sandy beaches, tropical charming weather, and warm inviting sea water, the island has seen little development of big shopping malls. However, you can find plenty of roadside shopping markets around the island. Apart from the big player like Central Festival Samui, the new-to-the-block, located in Bophut area is The Wharf. It has been trying to catch the local and tourists attention since its official opening in December last year.

Located on a 24,000 Sqm land next to Bophut Beach, the Wharf offers up to 120 shops selling boutique fashion clothes, accessories, handbags, shoes, and souvenirs. Outstanding with its location by the beach as well as the design concept, the Wharf boasts an open area where shoppers can roam around and enjoy the fresh air from the ocean while shopping. The design is similar to the famous Riverside mall in Bangkok – Asiatique the Riverfront.

It gets better on Friday when the Fisherman’s Village Walking Street collides with the mall. Visitors can park at the Wharf and start their journey from there and walk down the street by Bophut Beach where the Friday market is on.

During the regular day, visitors can also combine the trip to Bophut Plaza where there are many boutique shops, café, boutique hotels, spas, bars, and a variety of restaurants.

The Wharf also offers food options, mostly occupied by Thai food restaurant. It also has a food court where it offers cheaper meals compared to those from restaurants.

The mall is 5.4 km from the Samui International Airport, 16.3 km from the Seatran Ferry and 25 km from Raja Ferry. For more information on the routes, check out here.
